DUMPVAR shows the value of an ISPF variable in dump format, with hex on the left and EBCDIC on the right. It is used to view long variables that option 7.3 won't show. It is also useful when a variable contains hexadecimal information.
DUMPVAR is available as source code.

TSO DUMPVAR varname
where varname is the name of a variable in the current application profile pool.
Browse is invoked on a dump format of the requested variable.
- Place dumpvar.txt in a library allocated to SYSEXEC or SYSPROC.
This example shows the variable ZPLEX as displayed by DUMPVAR. (ZPLEX is where edit highlight information is stored). It includes the variable name, userid, date, time and variable size. Since the data is shown in a temporary file, if you ever need to save the data set, type TSO ISRDDN on the command line and edit the file from there; then use the CREATE or REPLACE command to save the data.
